Hey Everyone, There's been lots going on here the past few months. New songwriting, shows at rock climbing gyms, outdoor adventures, and good times with friends and family. Here is a little taste of the fun. To answer your questions about the video. Yes, I backpacked a guitar down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Yes, and back up to the top. Yes, it was worth it. The video is sped up to make me sound like the chipmunks. Why? Well I guess I thought it was much funnier that way. If it's your birthday, this song is dedicated to you. :) Talk to you soon!

Wow. The Dominican Republic trip exceeded expectations and was an incredible experience. The Christian Surfers' sponsored contest was a huge success with fun waves and an incredible turnout. Great to meet a bunch of fellow Christian Surfers members from Florida chapters as well as get involved with the local community in the Sosua and Cabarete areas of the DR. Had the chance to play with the local worship band at Dustin Miller's home church. They really rocked and we had the chance to play for a while after the service was over. Guitar lessons, surf lessons, baseball, and other antics made up most of the time spent with the local children and orphans of the community. Beach clean-ups, events, and help at a local medical clinic were also part of the trip. In the days off, we ventured throughout the north coast of the island and explored some pretty incredible beaches, scenery, food, and culture. Great times with wonderful new friends in an incredible community! I am extremely thankful for the opportunity. Check out photos on the facebook page soon. There are a few below for a preview!
Headed to the Dominican Republic this week to help out with a Christian Surfers contest and local community support. There is also the opportunity to work with a local music program and hopefully get some surfing in myself! I am really excited for the trip, hoping it will be a wonderful experience with the community. Looking forward to meeting up with buddy Dustin Miller and company. Will have lots to share upon returning. In the meantime, check out Dustin's mission and blog:
http://www.dmmissions.com http://www.dmmissions.blogspot.com/ Take Care, Greg P.S. Check out a shot from the most recent climbing trip to Red Rocks Canyon in Nevada. Amazing scenery. Last weekend was the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA. It was a huge event, with skateboarding, bmx, surfing, live music, and tons of industry stores, reps, booths, you name it. It was a great time. I volunteered with the Christian Surfers group who was helping many different organizations do their thing. The Life Rolls On foundation was there, as well as the Living the Dream Foundation. Both of them are incredible groups doing great things for those with disabilities and cystic fibrosis. Action sports plays such a great role in the lifestyles of those involved with the organization. Surfing's positive effects on cystic fibrosis have been translated into medical treatments used by all who suffer from it! Check this out.
"Haager also was living proof that surfing helped CF patients breathe easier. Doctors determined that inhaling saltwater mist had a powerful effect on rehydrating the lining of the lungs and allowed CF patients to more easily eliminate bacteria-contaminated mucus. This discovery led researchers to develop a hypertonic saline solution, which CF patients around the world now inhale, mimicking a “surf session,” on a daily basis. The Pipeline events were created to herald this discovery." Overall, it was a great experience. Check out some photos below of Rob Machado getting out of the water, an individual from Life Rolls On headed out for a surf, and Tom Curren perfoming at the Drifter movie premier. So, I apologize I have been away for a while. There has been a bunch of things going on recently. The dust stirred from the balance of the work-life and the musician-life has yet to settle, although I am working on it. I was able to play an Open Mic in Carlsbad, CA (my new current residence) at a cool Irish pub called O'Sullivan's. That was a good time. I've been writing a lot recently, mostly instrumental, however some songs are coming together lyrically as well. I'm also still continuing work on the acoustic songs, I promise they will be ready soon, digital artwork and all. In the meantime, I am trying to get some adventure time around the southern California area. The most recent hike was Torrey Pines. June gloom was in full effect, however it was still a fun time. Pretty cool views for sure. All for now. Take care.
